Since 1912, we have wholeheartedly welcomed members of the greater Los Angeles community to join us in song, service, worship and prayer at Sunnyside Baptist Church. Come and be a part of this thriving and hope-filled congregation
Our History
Sunnyside Baptist Church began as a Bible School & prayer group: established as a missionary effort by the Los Angeles Baptist City Mission Society. On November 12, 1911, a group of nine people formed a Bible school.
Sunnyside has established a rich tradition of neighborhood ministries. During the church's 100 years in this community, it has sought to welcome & embrace community residents from all walks of life.
As the racial, ethnic & economic characteristics of the community have changed, Sunnyside has been confronted time & again by our Saviors commands to " love thy neighbor as they self" and "go forth & spread the good news."
